2007-01-22 - Australian utility Ergon Energy, which operates one of the largest power distribution networks in the world, has made ABB its sole supplier of medium voltage switchgear. Product reliability, performance and safety were key.

UniGear excelled in Ergon’s requirements for performance, reliability and safety – key factors in a distribution system as large and climatically diverse as Queensland.

The utility requires an estimated 5,000 pole-mounted distribution transformers a year for its extensive distribution network, and is seeking to improve reliability and quality as well as reduce expenditure on one of its largest sources of equipment outlay.
